During his working visit to Brest, A. Lukashenko proposed seeking good investment projects to develop existing industries in which Belarusians have the expertise. The President noted that creating new industries in the regions is not always necessary if there are already existing enterprises providing jobs and wages. Sometimes, modernization is sufficient to increase production, thereby increasing the number of jobs. Speaking about industries in which Belarusians have the expertise, the Head of State highlighted the Brest Electric Lamp Plant. The plant's main product was incandescent lamps, although demand for LEDs is currently growing worldwide. Domestic manufacturers, including the Brest plant, also have the expertise to produce them.
