Aleksandr Lukashenko is paying a working visit to Tajikistan on 9-10 October. The Belarusian leader will take part in a meeting of the CIS Heads of State Council, which will be held in Dushanbe on 10 October. About two dozen issues will be submitted for consideration by the Heads of State of the Commonwealth. On the eve of the Organization's 35th anniversary next year, it is planned to consider a number of initiatives to strengthen its international positioning, in particular, the creation of the CIS Plus format and the granting the observer status to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization within the CIS. The meeting's agenda also includes energy security, military cooperation, border security, and combating transnational crime. Following the results of the event, it is planned to adopt relevant international documents.
