The parliamentary elections in Belarus were consistent with democratic principles, being transparent and free, CIS and Shanghai Cooperation Organisation observers have agreed. According to SCO observer mission head Rashid Alimov, the parliamentary elections in Belarus were free and legitimate. Each delegation member had the opportunity to freely observe the voting process. Head of the CIS observer mission Sergei Lebedev said the voters had become smarter and more careful, making their choices depending on what the candidates have to offer.
