Belarus actively supports global trends in urbanization and is open to sincere dialogue and active partnership in addressing modern challenges. This was stated by Igor Sergeenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives, during the 13th session of the World Urban Forum in Azerbaijan. The forum is held under the auspices of the United Nations and coincides with the decade of the New Urban Agenda. Speaking about the development of urban planning in Belarus, the Chairman of the House of Representatives emphasized that creating a high-quality and convenient living environment is one of the seven most important priorities for the country's socio-economic development. The National Strategy for Sustainable Development of Belarus for the period up to 2040 also gives special attention to housing construction. A number of bilateral meetings are also planned during the visit of the Speaker of the Lower House of the Belarusian Parliament to Azerbaijan.
