A Memorandum of understanding was signed between the National Assembly of Belarus and the Arab Parliament

A memorandum of understanding between the National Assembly of Belarus and the Arab Parliament was signed following a meeting between the speakers of the two chambers of the Belarusian parliament and the Speaker of the Arab Parliament. The document was signed on behalf of the National Assembly of Belarus by Natalya Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, and Igor Sergeyenko, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and on behalf of the Arab Parliament by its Speaker, Mohammed Ahmed Al-Yamahi. The memorandum will be a key step in expanding interparliamentary contacts. Existing ties will acquire a more systematic foundation and be imbued with new content. A commitment to expanding economic and trade ties with countries in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East was also confirmed. The initiative to develop specific economic proposals was supported by Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko.
