Alexander Lukashenko and Sergei Lavrov discuss Belarusian-Russian relations, integration issues and international situation

President Alexander Lukashenko met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Minsk. The Head of State noted the friendly format of the conversation.
Alexander Lukashenko and Sergei Lavrov discussed in detail the schedule of upcoming contacts at the highest level. The presidents of the two countries will meet in the format of the EAEU in Astana, at the third Forum of the regions of Belarus and Russia in Minsk, as well as at the Summit of the CIS Heads of State.
The focus of attention was on interaction between the EAEU and the EU.
Development of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Eurasian Economic Union was discussed as well. The parties note the necessity to preserve and transform the CIS in order to make this structure stronger and more effective. As for the EAEU, significant results in the development of integration were achieved during the period of the Belarusian presidency.
