The weather is making changes to the pace of harvesting campaign
Uneven ripening of grain crops is observed in the regions. Winter barley harvesting will coincide with winter rapeseed harvesting, and spring crops are also on the way. All this significantly complicates the work, and the task of preventing serious losses comes to the fore. This year, over 245.000 hectares of winter barley will have to be threshed — this is 3.000 more than last year. Almost 37% of the area has already been harvested. Over the past 30 years, Belarus has made significant progress in the agricultural sector: grain production has increased by 20%, milk — by a third, and meat production volumes have also increased. Significant growth was achieved thanks to large-scale modernization and technical reequipment. The President continues to focus the attention of farmers and relevant managers on the fact that food is a strategic resource. The key task is to build a highly efficient, profitable and modern agricultural sector in Belarus.
