The state programme "Sustainable Energy and Energy Efficiency" for 2026-2030 has been approved in Belarus

Its key objective is to reduce the energy intensity of GDP by 4%, as well as achieve energy independence by 33% in five years. All this will reduce the cost of goods, and therefore increase their competitiveness. Belarus pays special attention to the development of local fuels (such as peat), nuclear energy and the construction of the third power unit of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant, as well as improving the reliability of energy supply during natural disasters.
