Farmers are on guard of food safety around the clock

The harvesting campaign is gaining momentum in Belarus. A total of 925.000 tonnes of grain were harvested. Winter barley has already been harvested from 80% of the fields. Almost two thirds of the area of this crop has been cultivated in the Minsk region. Farmers also work the night shift. Combine harvesters work until dew appears on the plants. The goal is to ensure food security. During the night harvest, the main requirement is to observe safety precautions. The emphasis is also on strict adherence to technology, taking into account the current contrasting weather. The harvest continues until late at night in the fields of the Brest Oblast. In the Vitebsk Oblast, mass harvesting of grain and legumes is planned to begin by the end of the week.
