Belarusian scientists have unveiled new wheat varieties

New wheat varieties are more efficient, resistant to pests, diseases, and various weather conditions: the winter wheat variety "Ailin" and the spring wheat variety "Karta." The winter soft wheat variety "Ailin" was created using the linear selection method. This is a traditional method of crossing two of the best parental varieties, each with the desired traits. Experts note the maximum yield of this new variety is over 130 centners per hectare. The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus annually submits several agricultural crop varieties to the state commission, one of which is included in production. Thus, in 2026, the unique spring wheat variety "Karta" was included in the state register of the Republic of Belarus.
