Belarus oil production is forecast to grow

A new record in oil production is planned to be set in Belarus this year. The oilmen are aiming at 2 mln 5 thousand tonnes of raw materials. The production growth is connected with the development of hard-to-recover reserves. A few years ago, Belarus mastered the technology, the principle of which is drilling horizontal wells, as well as hydraulic fracturing of the oil reservoir. Hydrocarbons are now extracted only in one place — in the area of the Pripyat Trough in the Gomel region. Last year, Belarusian oilmen extracted about 2 mln tonnes of oil. And this result became a record of the last 29 years.
