Belarus introduces changes in the sphere of import and operation of cars
09.07.2025
Belarus is introducing
important changes in the sphere of import and operation of cars in the country.
The resolution was adopted by the Government. It concerns legal entities that
import foreign cars to Belarus. Now, when importing large shipments, dealers
will be required to provide the entire package of documents for the car,
confirming its quality and safety. The relevant technical regulations on
security are in force in the the Eurasian
Economic Union (EAEU). And the domestic manufacturer obeys its rules,
confirming the necessary characteristics of the cars. The new requirements put
the national producer and importers on an equal footing, for which certain
requirements were simplified (they were introduced during the COVID-19 period,
when it was problematic to ensure compliance with all the documentation). Now
the market is actually returning to pre-COVID times, increasing the
requirements for the safe handling of vehicles in
our country. The changes will not affect individuals who transport cars for
personal use.
