Belarus and the Chukotka Autonomous Area of Russia have great prospects for cooperation in the fields of industry, food and tourism. This opinion was expressed by Deputy Prime Minister N. Petkevich at a meeting with the Governor of the Chukotka Autonomous Area of Russia V. Kuznetsov. The mining industry in the region needs modern, reliable technology. Belarus offers not only machine supplies, but also full service. Chukotka has large reserves of various minerals, gold and copper mining projects are underway, and new tin production is planned. The meeting in the Council of Ministers resulted in the signing of an agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical, and socio-cultural cooperation.
