Belarus and Lithuania are preparing to implement new customs system. It is planned that the principal customs procedures will be carried out within the country, rather than at the border. This topic was discussed at a meeting of the heads of customs administrations of the two countries. The expected impact is absence of trailer truck queues. The experiment will affect carriers with a spotless reputation in the first place. Also, the heads of customs services of Belarus and Lithuania got acquainted with the work to combat smuggling and with new information technologies on the example of the crossing point Privalka. In the near future the departments plan to strengthen cooperation.
