The new regulations will come into force on July 1, 2024. The minimum amount of sick payments will now be pegged to the minimum wage (Br626 as of the year's start). The payments will also be increased for those who have been working for more than ten years. Sick pays will be accrued only at the main place of work. At the same time, the right to sick leave will be determined on condition of incapacity for work at all places of employment. The innovations will allow establishing equal approaches to the payment of sick leave and reduce the burden on business.
