Reconstruction of Vosstaniya Square in Gomel nearing completion

There are plans to complete the reconstruction of Vosstaniya Square in Gomel for the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders. The work is at the final stage. The square and the park were combined into a single composition and supplemented with new elements. The lighting design has been completed, renovation of the facades of adjacent buildings continues, tiling and landscaping are underway. Next week the legendary T-34 tank will return to its original place. The pedestal on which the tank stood for half a century was lined with granite. On July 3, a 3-meter bronze sculpture will be unveiled with the laying of a capsule with a message to descendants. The same signs in the form of clasped hands in memory of the victims of the genocide will appear in every regional center of the country.
