President of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus Viktor Lukashenko congratulated two-time Olympic rowing champion Ekaterina Karsten on her jubilee. Viktor Lukashenko noted that Karsten's brilliant victories served as the best guide not only for the new generation of Belarusian rowers, but also for representatives of other sports. Ekaterina Karsten is the champion of the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and the 2000 Games in Sydney, as well as a silver and two-time bronze medalist of various Olympics. The Belarusian won 16 world championships medals, including 6 gold. In 2008, Karsten became the first awardee of the Order of the Fatherland in the history of Belarus.
