Car-Free Day on September 22

A Car-Free Week is taking place in Belarus. This year 64 Belarusian towns and villages joined the international action. The goal of ​​the initiative is to encourage people to temporary give up individual transport and use bicycles or public transport. A Car-Free Week will culminate in a Car-Free Day, which will be held in Minsk on Saturday. According to the experts, on September 22 the emission of harmful substances into the environment traditionally decreases by more than 300 tonnes. On September 21, the eve of the action, activists of the Minsk bicycle society will give fruits to those who will travel to work by bicycle.
