Awards presented to best workers

State awards on behalf of the President were presented today to the best representatives of work collectives. The ceremony with the participation of the Prime Minister of Belarus took place in the Palace of the Republic. The list of awardees includes more than one hundred people. They work in agro-industrial complex, forestry, science, mass media. The following facts testify to the contribution of agriculture workers to economic development. Belarus is ranked in the first group of countries with a high level of food security. At the same time, enterprises maintain high export positions. Belarusian food products are supplied to more than 60 countries. Last year, the foreign currency proceeds from the sale of foodstuffs totaled more than $5 billion. The goal is to make it $7 billion. The head of government stressed that this can be achieved by launching new types of products, improving the quality and branching out into new markets.
