An exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the legendary Cuban leader Fidel Castro has opened in the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus. The exhibition includes photographs of his visit to the Belorussian SSR in 1972, archival materials, as well as museum exhibits reflecting the history and development of Belarusian‑Cuban relations. Fidel Castro admired the history of Belarus and the heroism of its people during the Great Patriotic War. Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Vadim Ipatov noted that one of the important areas of the deputies work is preserving historical memory, promoting traditional values, and disseminating historical facts that help to understand the depth of history and the path that countries take as they gain sovereignty and independence.
