Belarusian education should focus on the needs of the economy. This was stated by President Alexander Lukashenko today during his visit to the Minsk State Automotive College.
This is one of the oldest institutions of secondary
special education in our country. Its 72-year history is closely
connected with the development of the Minsk Automobile Plant, which is situated
literally across the road. Over this time 24 thousand professionals graduated form
the college. Many of them became heads of enterprises,
scientists, authoritative experts in the field of mechanical engineering. The
head of state got acquainted with the material and technical base of the
college and heard out the report on the development of the vocational education
system as a whole. In our country there are 248 lyceums and colleges.
Annually, more than a third of school leavers choose them as the first stage of
professional growth.
