A telephone conversation between Presidents of Belarus and Turkey Aleksandr Lukashenko and Recep Tayyip Erdogan took place on the evening of February 28. The central topic of conversation was the events in the center of Europe and, in connection with this, questions of war and peace. In detail, the Belarusian and Turkish leaders discussed the conflict in Ukraine, as well as the Russian-Ukrainian talks, which began on February 28 in Belarus, and the focus on promoting the peace process. The President of Turkey declared his readiness to contribute in every possible way to the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. Aleksandr Lukashenko, in turn, noted that this position completely coincides with the Belarusian one. In addition, a significant part of the time in the conversation, which lasted more than an hour, was devoted to the issues of the Western sanctions policy towards Belarus and Russia.
