The number of applicants for deputy chair has increased to 522. This was reported today by head of the Central Election Commission Lidiya Yarmoshyna. Yesterday the Mogilev Regional Commission settled one of the claims. Several applications are being considered in other regions. On average, nearly one candidate in 5 will be successful. TV debates are becoming popular during this campaign. They will be held in all districts of Minsk, Vitebsk and Mogilev regions.Simultaneously with the elections to the House of Representatives, nomination of candidates to the Council of the Republic takes place. The lists have been submitted by all regions, except for Minsk. The deadline is on Friday, August 19. From August, 20 to 24, the CEC will register candidates in the upper house of parliament.
