Belarusian Foreign Ministry comments on Latvia's decision to close the border

In the pursuit of political points, Riga has once again forgotten about the people. This was stated in a statement by the Belarusian Foreign Ministry regarding Latvia's closure of the border. Ruslan Varankov, the official spokesman for the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, who issued the statement to journalists, emphasized that references to a technical failure at the Latvian checkpoint are frankly unconvincing. In light of this unfriendly move, Belarus reserves the right to take retaliatory action against Latvia, including asymmetrical measures, to protect the national interests and citizens of Belarus.
