The Vitebsk hydroelectric power plant has started generating electricity. The plant is operating in test mode. Its first and second hydraulic units were launched on 1 and 7 December respectively, the third one is expected to be started today to be later followed by the launch of the fourth unit.The contract for the construction of the Vitebsk hydroelectric power plant"s hydrosystem was signed with the China National Electric Equipment Corporation.Vitebskenergo"s annual savings are expected to make up 11.5 million dollars.
