The situation in the mechanical engineering sphere must be changed drastically, as stated by President Alexander Lukashenko today after hearing a report on the development strategy of Belarus" mechanical engineering industry. A similar meeting last year urged to work out measures for developing the country"s mechanical engineering organisations.Belarus" mechanical engineering complex currently comprises of over 270 large and medium-sized organisations. Substantial state support has been provided to the leading companies.The President expressed interest whether the government has any effective measures to boost the industry and ways for solving the problems. He also asked to give an objective assessment to the executive staff involved in implementing the strategy of Belarus" mechanical engineering industry development.
