Retail networks will make 10% discounts for socially important goods for vulnerable groups of population

10% discount for socially important goods for pensioners, big families and those whose income is less than the subsistence rate. The decision was signed by the Ministry of anti-monopoly regulation and trade and the Retailers' association. The governmental initiative was supported by 16 representatives of the retail business, which makes 50% of the whole retail market. Yet, the list is open. The ministry expects new retailers to join it. The new mechanism comes into effect from January, 17. Each retail network has an average 25% of the socially important goods in its product offering. These products also come under the price regulation.
