President Alexander Lukashenko demands greater use of local fuels. Such a task was set at the meeting on energy development. Every year Belarus buys gas in the amount worth $ 3 billion. This item of states costs can be reduced, the President says. Transition to cheaper energy will help reduce the cost of goods and increase the competitiveness of our products. In this regard, the government and local authorities should co-ordinate their plans to switch over to cheaper energy sources. Moreover, the launch of the Belarusian nuclear power plant should be taken into account in drafts of the future fuel balances.
