The President set a task to intensify negotiations on Belarus" accession to the WTO at yesterday"s meeting on cooperation with the World Trade Organisation. The WTO has already been joined by all Minsk"s partners in the Eurasian Economic Union.The meeting discussed possible risks. On the one hand, accession to the WTO will contribute to attracting investments and help exporters. On the other hand, Minsk will have to renounce direct state support to economic sectors. The main question is whether Belarusian companies will be able to operate in such conditions.Belarus will be moving towards the WTO, but without prejudice to its own economy and internal market, Alexander Lukashenko stressed.
