President of Belarus has met with Chairman of the Minsk Region Executive Committee Semyon Shapiro to discuss the region"s prospects. The President pointed out that the Minsk region had become the winner among all the regions in terms of socio-economic development over the past five years. At the same time, the Belarusian leader stressed that the region"s problem districts had to be urgently addressed. The discussion touched upon cooperation with investors, as well as the development of the region"s social sphere and infrastructure. Semyon Shapiro informed the President on the progress of cleanup works around the capital. The meeting also discussed the problem of vacant territories.
