Plans to implement Chinese trade city project in Belarus

A Chinese international trade city may be set up in Orsha District. The project was discussed during a meeting between Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration and a Chinese Zhejiang Province delegation. The parties signed a protocol of intent. The trade city is supposed to be built in Bolbasovo settlement. The investments will include $60 million. The project is to become part of an industrial and logistics complex. It will help to concentrate trade flows in Belarus which are now divided between Poland, Lithuania and Russia. Bolbasovo may become a major whole sale center. Belarus will become the second European country where Zhejian will undertake a similar project. The first one was implemented near Warsaw in 2016.
