Tests of the national power system with the disconnection of cross-border transmission lines with Lithuania began in Belarus today. The Ministry of Energy explained that the test is being carried out to verify the reliability of the system, taking into account the exit of the Baltic countries from the BRELL energy ring in 2025, which unites Belarus, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. The test is designed for 24 hours and provides for switching high-voltage lines on and off, assessment of power generation facilities operation modes, monitoring of the system operation under various conditions.
