Ministry of Economy launches regions’ development concept

Liberating local initiatives and providing an opportunity for the regions to choose their path of development themselves: the Ministry of Economy has launched a concept according to which each region should decide on promising growth areas in order to obtain an effective result in the future. The first conference in the format of the consultation was held in Brest city. The organizers of the project are confident that for the successful development of the region the ideas should come not "from above", but from the society itself. According to experts, there is enough potential in the regions. Local communities know better on what to focus to develop successfully. Similar consultations will be held in Vitebsk, Mogilev and Gomel.
