The reformed Trade Ministry - the Ministry of Antitrust Regulation and Trade - is taking up new powers. Its main objectives will be developing competition, regulating price formation, analysing and stimulating the consumer market. According to Minister Vladimir Koltovich, the agency will respond to any signals of unfair competition and has already received the first complaints. Besides, the Ministry plans to abolish the compulsory harmonisation of prices for businesses occupying a dominant position in the market.
