Belarus pays close attention to the construction of its nuclear power plant, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at a meeting with Rosatom Director General Aleksei Likhachev. He said that the decision to build a nuclear power plant was not an easy one. «There were phobias, but we managed to convince people that it is our future, it means the most advanced technologies. I place the construction of the nuclear power plant alongside with space, IT and digital technologies, which are our future,» said Alexander Lukashenko. The Belarusian nuclear power plant will be fully commissioned in the summer of 2020. It will feature two power units with a capacity of 1,200 MW each.
