Industrial exports growth rate at 103%

The government commended the performance of the industrial sector of Belarus in 2016. At the final board meeting of the Industry Ministry, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko stressed: in 2016 the organizations run by the Belarusian Industry Ministry boosted the industrial output by 4.2% and increased the export by 3.2%. Today the major challenge for the industry is the protection of the domestic market and production of goods with a higher added value and profitability. The session also emphasized the importance of export promotion. Industry Minister instructed top managers of companies to prepare plans of increasing salaries of employees.
