An IMF mission started working in Minsk. Experts of this financial institute headed by Peter Dohlman and representatives of state agencies will discuss the economic and social situation in Belarus, privatization of state-owned enterprises, liberalization of business conditions, development of competition on goods and services market, and steps to eliminate cross-subsidization. Belarus hopes to start a new cooperation program with the Fund. According to preliminary statements, the loan might amount to three and a half billion dollars for 10 years under less than two and a half percent. The mission will stay in Minsk until June 12.
