The session of the Union State Council of Ministers was held in Gomel. Partaking in it was Belarus’ Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov and Russia’s Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. The agenda of the session included more than 20 issues. Trade and economic cooperation was in the center of attention. In particular, the participants discussed the priority avenues and major objectives of the further development of the Union State in the medium term. Also, the heads of government visited the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Radiation Medicine and Human Ecology, where they were shown the latest developments and technologies. The center was built with the help of the Union State budget, and now 70,000 people are treated and rehabilitated there annually, including residents of Russia.
