The ecological situation associated with the Brest battery factory activity will be monitored by a special government and public control group. The country's first battery factory was built near Brest airport. The investment project will create jobs and give access to previously imported products. Among other environmental issues considered by the city and region authorities are: construction of exhaust gas cleaning systems, promotion of cycling, and construction of a bypass to reduce traffic jams.
