China Development Bank allocated 3.5 billion yuan to Belarus (this is $500 million). A bilateral agreement in Shanghai was signed by Minister of Finance Maxim Yermolovich. According to him, this deal speaks of a new level in the economic relations of the two countries. For the first time, obtaining a loan is not related to the implementation of a specific project. The funds may be used for general purposes. For example, the repayment and servicing of public debt, as well as the maintenance of foreign exchange reserves. Credit funds will also be used to promote the development of bilateral trade between Belarus and China.
