Car sales growth in Belarus

Belarusians began buying more cars. According to official dealers’, in H1 2018, the sales rose by 70%. Market experts say, the demand can be explained by the growth of citizens' incomes and the availability of bank loans. But the most significant factor is a decrease in nominal prices, related to the strengthening of the Belarusian ruble against the Russian currency. Today, more than 80% of the total sales of dealers are cars imported from Russia. Another factor is the production of Geely automobiles near Borisov. The cars have entered Top 10 most popular brands among Belarusians. The widening of the product range of cars will allow the manufacturer to further strengthen its position in the market.
