The Belarusian NPP was issued a license to operate power unit No. 1. As the representative of Gosatomnadzor emphasized, the issuance of a license is a historic event that crowns many years of work to create modern nuclear and radiation safety in Belarus. The safety examination was carried out by the Joint Institute for Energy and Nuclear Research "Sosny" of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus according to the technical assignment of Gosatomnadzor, the conformity assessment was carried out directly by Gosatomnadzor. Before the Board of the Ministry of Emergency Situations considered the issue of issuing a license to operate the first power unit of the BelNPP, public hearings were held.
