Belarusian and Polish customs bodies discussed measures to increase the throughput capacity of border checkpoints

Grodno has hosted a meeting between the authorities of the Grodno regional customs service and the tax administration chamber of Poland’s Bialystok. The parties stressed a high level of Belarus-Poland cooperation at the border and the scope of activities in international logistics, and discussed the situation regarding transport corridors and the closure of illegal smuggling channels. The experts also touched upon the traffic situation at the checkpoints. In particular, the Grodno customs office pointed out a 25% increase in heavy truck traffic. By the way, the number of passenger cars crossing the Belarusian-Polish border has grown by 30%. Experiments in transitless technologies and automatic release of goods have resulted in a positive trend at the checkpoints.
