Belarus-Uzbekistan Forum of Regions kicks off in Minsk today

The First Forum of Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan is kicking off in Minsk today. Uzbek delegation includes MPs, ministers, heads of entreprises, businessmen. One of the key topics is interregional cooperation. Several joint ventures are already operating in Uzbekistan, e.g. on the assembly of loaders, excavators. Today is a big negotiation day. The plenary session is scheduled for July 30. It is expected that the forum will result in the signing of about 15 interregional agreements on cooperation and also commercial contracts. In January-May 2019, the trade turnover between the countries amounted to about $89 million.
