Belarus' gold reserves increase to exceed 42 tons

The gold reserves in Belarus have increased by one ton. Now the National Bank vaults hold more than 42 tons of this precious metal. According to the regulator, in nominal terms the gold and forex reserves of our country have grown by almost a third over the past year. On January 1 they amounted to 9 billion 400 million US dollars as per preliminary data. The savings will be used, among other purposes, to repay debts to foreign creditors. The current state debt of Belarus is a little over 16,5 billion US dollars. With this in mind, experts are generally optimistic about the position of our economy in the gold and forex market.
