The competitiveness of the Belarusian dairy products may increase due to changes in the EAEU technical regulations. Under the new rules, companies that offer products containing milk fat replacer are required to indicate it on the product label. The label will clearly state the list of ingredients, the percentage of natural components, presence of additives and substitutes. Experts note that the new technical regulations will help consumers choose higher-quality products. Amendments have also been made to the design of packaging. In particular, a larger print is to be used for the name of the product and expiration date. Stricter labeling requirements are aimed at protecting the rights of consumers and bona fide producers. By the way, last year over 800 tons of dairy products were produced in Belarus. Only one hundredth of a percent contained milk fat replacer.
