Belarus changes energy efficiency requirements for household appliances

Starting July, national energy efficiency requirements for household appliances and electronics come into force in Belarus. White goods and office equipment are subjects to compulsory certification. Both domestic and imported goods must comply with the standards. In addition, a special national marking is introduced, thus Belarusians will be able to clearly determine electricity consumption of each device. Belarus has invested tens of millions of dollars to reduce energy consumption. Testing laboratories have been set up, about 50 standards have been developed.
