Belarus budget saves $15 million in abnormally warm January

In abnormally warm winter conditions, in January alone, the state budget saved $15 million. According to Belenergo, that’s the cost of more than 100 thousand tons of fuel, which was unused thanks to the stable above-zero temperature. The situation will affect ordinary citizens as well since charges for public utility services will go down. According to experts, this January, electricity consumption decreased by 5.5%, heat - by 18%. At the same time, despite the economic advantages, maintaining a uniform temperature in batteries in such weather is technically more difficult.
