Prime Ministers of Belarus and Russia have held talks in Moscow. The parties intend to sign a package of documents concerning the energy sector. This is the first foreign visit of the recently appointed Belarusian prime minister to Russia. Last year the trade between the two countries exceeded $35 billion. In January-May, the trade decreased a little due to the coronavirus pandemic. Russian exports to Belarus shrank by about 31.9% while Belarusian exports to Russia – just by 7%. The Prime Minister of Belarus noted the specific nature of the Belarusian-Russian relations. According to him, direct contacts and the government’s work aimed at concrete achievements in the current difficult conditions are of fundamental importance.
