Belarus and Glencore cooperation prospects

Prospects of cooperation with the Swiss commodity trading and mining company Glencore International AG were discussed as Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko met with the company’s top executives. At persent Glencore has no business contacts in Belarus. “I would like us to come to terms so that we could work together in some areas,” added Alexander Lukashenko. Glencore CEO Ivan Glasenberg, other Glencore executives, and the Russian businessman Mikhail Gutseriyev took part in the meeting. Representing mining and extracting companies from all over the world, Glencore supplies metals, minerals, crude oil, refined oil products, coal, and agricultural products to customers in automobile industry, metallurgical industry, food industry, and energy industry.
